Student Midwives
Midwifery is an ancient art that has traditionally been passed down from generation to generation. In the U.S., Certified Professional Midwives (CPMs) must participate in clinical experience under a registered preceptor in order to complete their education. Not only am I committed to providing exceptional client care, but I am also deeply invested in teaching and training the next generation of midwives. By hiring Tree of Life Midwifery, you too, are choosing to invest in the greater midwifery community and the education of future midwives. As a client of Tree of Life Midwifery, you will interact with students along your journey. Students will always be in direct supervision of a Licensed Midwife and you will never have a student provide care alone.

Hi! I’m Taylor, a mom, a wife, and a Phase 3 student midwife.
I was drawn to this work by a few special women who believed in me and in birth. Two of my three babies were born at home, into mine & my husband’s arms, and those experiences helped shape the way I see birth and motherhood. I believe birth is a family matter, and that it has the power to shape women and their families for a lifetime.
As a student midwife, I’m endlessly fascinated by pregnancy and birth and grateful for every family who allows me to learn alongside them. I love the balance of science and intuition in midwifery.
When I’m not at a birth or in clinic, you’ll usually find me either with my husband and our three little ones, at the gym, or hobby-hopping. Being both a mother and a student midwife has made this season of life wonderfully busy, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
