Tree of Life Midwives

Certified Professional Midwives, Licensed Midwives

Morgann Burres, LM CPM

Primary Midwife - Tree of Life Midwifery

I’m Morgann and I’m so excited you’ve found yourself here. I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and have been a desert dweller for the last 6+ years. My journey into birth work began long before adulthood. I’ve always had a fascination with pregnancy, birth, and the newborn phase. In fact, my very first memory is when I was 2 - the day my brothers (twins) were born! I’ve always known that birth is a monumental event, even at such a young age.

I have served the birthing community as an experienced birth doula & photographer and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator. I currently direct the education program at the motherhood co.

Becoming a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) was a natural step in my career path. My desire to be able to care for families in a more intimate and specific way led me to becoming a midwife. I am both nationally licensed as a CPM and licensed by the State of Arizona (LM). It is here that I have found such satisfaction in my calling.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, spending time with family, going for walks with friends, sewing fun projects, and learning to build with wood.

Che Phifer, LM CPM

Back-Up Midwife - Agape Blooming Midwifery

Che Phifer is a wife and mother of three grown boys. She’s worked in emergency services as an EMT, 911 operator, and dispatcher for over 20 years. In that time she was honored to serve and care for people from many communities during the most challenging times of their lives. She also worked to organize programs to teach diversity and inclusion.

She has served the birthing community as a midwife, doula, childbirth educator, and breastfeeding educator. Che is nationally credentialed as a Certified Professional Midwife, as well as being licensed by the State of Arizona.

At home, she enjoys spending time studying herbalism, as well as creating teas, tinctures, salves, and creams to support the health of families. She believes in education, evidence-based practice, true informed consent, bodily autonomy, and support for personal choice.
